YouTube publishing settings and limits

Prepare the video details and audience settings required for YouTube.

Core

Overview

YouTube publishing uses a video with its own title, description, and channel settings. Choose the intended channel and review account-specific restrictions before scheduling.

Review YouTube settings

  • Use the supported single-video input and check duration and processing validation.
  • Enter the title, description, category, and YouTube tags where needed.
  • Review visibility, comments, and the made-for-kids audience declaration.
  • Check cover-image availability for the selected format and any channel-verification requirement.

Prepare a vertical Short

  1. Select the video

Use a video up to three minutes long for conversion. The conversion option is disabled when the selected media does not meet its requirements.

  2. Enable Convert to Short (9:16)

In the destination’s YouTube settings, turn on the option to fit the video into a vertical frame. Black padding preserves the complete picture instead of cropping its edges.

  3. Review the result

Check the destination preview, title, audience declaration, and thumbnail warning. This setting applies to that YouTube destination; inspect other channels separately.

Shorts and thumbnails

YouTube determines final format classification and display. The experimental Shorts-thumbnail notice means a custom thumbnail may not be supported on every channel. Conversion and an approximate preview do not guarantee classification or thumbnail acceptance. Follow the current validation for the video and channel.

Availability and access

Core

This feature does not require an add-on, although permissions or organization settings may still apply.
