Why is an auto-generated Short Link’s destination read-only while its custom slug is editable?
The source feature owns the target, while the slug is a separate address setting.
Overview
Auto-generated Short Links can point to content managed by RSS, Evergreen, or another feature. FoxLink keeps that target read-only here to preserve the source relationship.
What you can change
With Short Link editor access, use the custom-slug field where allowed. Save and copy the resulting custom URL; the generated key continues to work alongside it.
What you cannot change here
Changing the slug does not redirect the link to a different article. Review the source feature for supported destination changes, and check tree memberships before altering shared content.
Availability and access
Availability depends on your organization access and assigned permissions.
