Why does a FoxLink return 404 Not Found or 410 Gone?

404 indicates an unknown or unavailable public address; 410 indicates permanent retirement or deletion.

Overview

Copy the complete active URL from FoxLink before investigating. A typo or an unpublished tree can differ from an address that was deliberately retired.

Check the address

  1. Check publication

Find the link or tree in the correct organization and verify its public state.

  2. Check history

Review whether the requested alias or underlying Short Link was retired, deleted, or automatically removed.

  3. Share an active URL

Use a current generated or active custom address when the item still exists.

410 is permanent

A deleted or retired identifier cannot be claimed again. Publishing another tree revision does not restore that address.

Availability and access

Availability depends on your organization access and assigned permissions.
