What happens to public Link Tree URLs after archive, redirect, alias retirement, or deletion?

Archive keeps a tree online; redirect changes the destination; retirement and deletion permanently disable addresses.

Overview

These actions have different public consequences. Read the confirmation rather than treating them as interchangeable ways to hide a tree.

Public outcomes

  • Archive: the tree is inactive in the library but its public page stays available.
  • Redirect: visitors go directly to the override destination.
  • Retire alias: that old custom URL permanently returns 410 Gone.
  • Delete tree: all its public identifiers permanently return 410 Gone and remain reserved.

Choose before confirming

If you want visitors to reach another campaign, consider a redirect. If you only want library organization, archive. Do not delete to try to make a slug reusable.

Availability and access

Availability depends on your organization access and assigned permissions.
