Edit a video cover image

Choose a frame or upload an image to represent your video where supported.

Overview

A cover image is the still image shown for a video in supported previews or publishing formats. Support varies by platform and post type.

Choose a cover

Open the video’s cover controls
Select the video in Post Planner and open its cover-image action. Wait while it prepares the video.
Choose the source
Select a frame using the available timeline or frame control, or upload a custom image where offered.
Apply and preview
Save the selection and check the relevant platform preview.

Frame capture unavailable

Wait for processing or use another offered frame control. If capture still fails, use a supported custom image or retain the default. A preview cover cannot force a platform to accept a custom thumbnail for an unsupported format.

Core

This feature does not require an add-on, although permissions or organization settings may still apply.
