Delete media safely
Remove a library item after checking how it is used.

Vue d’ensemble
Deleting media removes the library entry and its recorded usage links. It does not delete posts already published on social platforms.
Review and remove
- Inspect uses
Open the file details and check linked posts and draft usage. Arrange replacements for unfinished work that still needs it.
- Delete the item
Use the library delete action with post-edit access and read the confirmation.
- Check the library
After success, confirm the item is no longer listed.
Do not rely on the old URL
Library deletion is not a reliable way to retract every copy of an image already shared elsewhere. Keep source files you need and review public posts separately if content must be removed.
