Metric reference: engagement
Understand interactions and the rates used to compare them.
Overview
Likes, reactions, comments, shares, and saves are different interaction measures. Engagement combines supported interactions, while engagement rate relates an interaction measure to a denominator.
Read the rate definition
Check the metric note for the selected platform and widget. A rate based on impressions cannot be compared directly with one based on reach, views, or followers. A combined percentage also should not be assumed to be a simple average of daily percentages.
Use supporting measures
Read the underlying counts alongside the rate. Dislikes and like/dislike ratios only appear where supplied. If a metric is unavailable, treat that as missing coverage rather than evidence that no interactions happened.
Availability and access
Availability depends on your organization access and assigned permissions.
