How role rank affects delegation
Understand why a user editor cannot grant every available role.
Overview
Role rank limits delegation. User-edit permission enables management actions, but it does not let a member grant roles above their effective authority or manage every higher-ranked account.
When a change is blocked
Check the selected member and requested role. The table also restricts editing your own account. Ask an authorized owner to make a necessary change rather than attempting to alter unrelated roles to get around the restriction.
Plan access with an owner
Describe the tasks the teammate needs to perform, such as editing posts or approving reviews. The owner can choose suitable feature roles without granting broad administration unnecessarily.
