Understand Short Link sources
See whether you or another MediaFox feature controls a link’s destination.
Overview
A Short Link’s source describes how it was created. It helps explain why one target can be edited while another is read-only.
Source labels
- Custom: a manually created link whose destination can be edited with the required access.
- Legacy import: a link brought in from an earlier system.
- RSS Manager or Evergreen: a link associated with that content workflow.
- Auto-generated: a destination owned by the feature that generated it.
Edit at the right level
When the target is read-only, use the owning feature to manage the source content where supported. You can still manage an allowed custom slug separately. Do not create an unrelated replacement without checking where the existing link is used.
