Understand permanent keys and custom slugs

Know which tree address stays stable and how custom addresses work alongside it.

Overview

Every Link Tree has a generated key used in its permanent URL. A custom slug adds a recognizable parallel address; it does not replace the generated key.

Choose a custom slug

Use 3–60 lowercase letters, numbers, or hyphens, starting and ending with a letter or number. FoxLink rejects invalid, reserved, or conflicting values. Copy the resulting URL from the interface rather than constructing it by hand.

Keep old shares working

Previous active custom addresses can keep working until retired. Deleting a tree or retiring an alias does not release identifiers for reuse. Use the permanent generated URL when you want an address independent of naming changes.

Availability and access

Availability depends on your organization access and assigned permissions.
