Help guide

Image template terminology

Understand the building blocks of reusable image designs.

Overview

Templates combine a visual layout with supplied or automatically resolved content. A saved design and the image generated from it are separate objects.

Template terms

  • Input: a field someone fills when using the template.
  • Macro: a reference to available post or page information.
  • Layer: an element’s place in the stack. Canvas: the output area and dimensions.
  • Safe area: a placement guide for avoiding likely crops or interface overlays.
  • Render: generates the final image from the design and values.

Changes need another render

Editing an input or reusable template does not automatically change an image already added to a post. Generate and inspect a new output when the content changes.

Availability and access

Availability depends on your organization access and assigned permissions.
