RSS and Evergreen terminology

Understand the main terms used by pre-release RSS and reusable-article tools.

Overview

RSS tools read structured feeds and identify articles for supported workflows. Their availability is separate from ordinary Post Planner access.

RSS terms

  • Feed: an RSS or Atom source. Item or article: an entry in that source.
  • Schema mapping: tells MediaFox which XML values contain article fields.
  • Fingerprint: stable signals used to recognize an article despite URL changes.
  • Evergreen: reusable content intended to remain useful over time.
  • Backoff: a scheduling mode that spaces recurring eligibility.

Collection is not publication

A fetched article is not necessarily a scheduled or approved post. Check the available workflow and resulting post state before assuming it will publish.

Availability and access

Availability depends on your organization access and assigned permissions.
