Manage Short Link custom slugs and history

Keep recognizable Short Link addresses and decide when to retire older ones.

Overview

Custom slugs use 3–60 lowercase letters, numbers, or hyphens and must start and end with a letter or number. Reserved or already-claimed identifiers cannot be used.

Rename without breaking old shares

Edit the link’s custom slug and save. The generated key remains valid, and previous active custom addresses can continue to work in parallel. Review the history before sharing a new address.

Retirement is permanent

Retiring a previous slug makes it return 410 Gone permanently. It never becomes available to claim again. Check old campaigns and published links before confirming retirement; use a still-active address for new shares.
