Manage historical custom URLs

Review old tree addresses and retire only those you no longer need.

Overview

Renaming a custom slug can leave earlier addresses active in parallel. This protects existing shares from breaking after a rename.

Review an old address

  1. Open historical URLs

In the Link Tree composer, inspect the historical custom URL list.

  2. Check external uses

Look for that address in bios, campaigns, QR codes, and documents before removing it.

  3. Retire only if intended

Read the permanent-retirement confirmation and proceed only when the old URL should stop working.

After retirement

The address returns 410 Gone permanently and cannot be reused. Publishing another revision or restoring a tree does not make the retired alias available again.

Availability and access

Availability depends on your organization access and assigned permissions.
