Delete a Short Link permanently

Remove a destination and permanently disable its generated and custom addresses.

Overview

Short Link deletion is permanent. Its generated key and custom slugs return 410 Gone and remain reserved, so deleting is not a way to release a preferred slug.

Delete after reviewing uses

  1. Inspect memberships

Check all Link Trees and known campaigns that use the destination.

  2. Confirm access

You need Short Link editor access and relevant Link Tree editing access when the link is shared in trees.

  3. Read the confirmation

Delete the intended link and check the result. Replace affected public destinations where needed.

What happens to tree items

An unavailable destination can remain visible to editors for reference while being hidden from the public tree. Removing that tree item is a separate cleanup action.

Availability and access

Availability depends on your organization access and assigned permissions.
