Configure broken-destination cleanup

Choose how long qualifying broken destinations remain before automatic removal.

Overview

FoxLink checks destinations regularly. The organization’s cleanup grace period controls how long a persistent qualifying failure can remain before removal.

Review the policy

  1. Open FoxLink Settings

You can view settings with either FoxLink viewer role. Saving requires both Short Link and Link Tree edit permissions.

  2. Set the grace period

Choose 1–365 days. The default is seven days. Review currently failing destinations before reducing the period.

  3. Save and monitor

Save the setting and inspect destination health, last check, and failure start time.

Important consequences

The countdown resets when a destination becomes healthy. Removed links return 410 Gone and keep their identifiers permanently reserved. Blocked or unreachable checks should be read according to their reported state rather than assumed to be ordinary HTTP failures.

Availability and access

Availability depends on your organization access and assigned permissions.
