Follow the steps below in order, then verify the result before moving on. FoxLink manages tracked Short Links, versioned Link Trees, public aliases, redirects, analytics, and destination health.
Before you begin
Open this workflow with the account and organization that own the relevant data. MediaFox evaluates access at the time of each action, so a visible page does not always mean every control is editable.
If you are following this guide with a teammate, agree on the organization, page selection, date range, and intended result before either person saves changes.
- Sign in and select the organization that owns the pages, content, users, or settings involved.
- Open FoxLink Dashboard in the organization navigation and clear unrelated filters before you begin.
How to read Short Link analytics
Work through the controls from top to bottom. Keep the current organization visible in the navigation and review inherited or existing values before replacing them.
- Open the correct workspace
Sign in to MediaFox, select the organization you want to work in, and open FoxLink Dashboard in the organization navigation.
- Open the relevant action
Use the page controls to read Short Link analytics. Read inherited values and warnings before changing anything.
- Total clicks
Review total clicks and choose the value that matches your intended result.
- Clicks over time
Review clicks over time and choose the value that matches your intended result.
- Last click
Review last click and choose the value that matches your intended result.
- Geography
Review geography and choose the value that matches your intended result.
- Referrers/platforms
Review referrers/platforms and choose the value that matches your intended result.
- Mobile/desktop
Review mobile/desktop and choose the value that matches your intended result.
- Review and confirm
Read any validation, permission, or confirmation message before saving. Continue only when the selected organization, pages, dates, and settings are correct for “Read Short Link analytics”.
Check the result
The task is complete when the Short Link or Link Tree shows the intended draft, published, redirect, analytics, or health state. Reopen the item or refresh the list once to make sure the saved state is not only local to the current form.
For publishing, moderation, imports, exports, or background processing, also check the resulting lifecycle or activity state. A successful save can still be followed by platform processing, collection, or review.
- Confirm the organization, page, item, and date or timezone shown in the result.
- Look for a success message, updated status badge, activity entry, or changed timestamp.
- Keep the item ID or public URL when another teammate needs to verify the result.
Troubleshooting
If the result is missing or an action is unavailable, do not assume the data was lost. MediaFox can hide controls because of role, page access, organization allowlists, add-ons, lifecycle state, or an external platform limitation.
- Verify the FoxLink add-on and the separate Short Link or Link Tree view/edit permission required by the action.
- Check custom-slug format, reserved names, active history, and concurrent edits before retrying a save.
- For public links, distinguish a missing 404 response from a permanently retired or deleted 410 response.
