A custom formula can express a calculation your team uses regularly. Give it a clear description so someone else can understand the inputs and units.
Build the formula
- Open custom metrics
Use the dashboard’s available custom-formula controls with reporting-edit access.
- Add fields
Choose metric, operator, or fixed-value fields and arrange the intended calculation. Change field types where needed.
- Validate and save
Resolve formula errors, add a description, and inspect the result against a simple example.
Check units and missing values
Combining percentages and counts can produce a misleading result. Check platform coverage and do not assume a missing input is zero. Test the calculation on a period where you can verify the numbers.
